Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Liberia, and unofficially in countries like Brazil and the Philippines. It is also observed in the Dutch town of Leiden and the Australian territory of Norfolk Island. It began as a day of giving thanks for the blessings of the harvest and the preceding year (Similarly named harvest festival holidays occur throughout the world during autumn, including in Germany and Japan.). Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 2nd Monday of October in Canada, on the 4th Thursday of November in the US, and around the same time of the year in other places. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, it has long been celebrated as a secular holiday.

Our Eclub hopes our members and other Rotarians in/outisde of our District will join us in this worthy community project that is located inside of our District 5240 and got its start with the Rotary Club of Conejo Valley.

Interested in a rewarding experience by delivering meals on Thanksgiving morning? Volunteers must be either a Rotarian or invited by and accompanied by a Rotarian. Please let us know, click this email link to write to us. As many of our international members do not live in District 5240 and cannot volunteer for meal deliveries, we welcome all donations, please click this link to donate for a worthy cause.

In 2022 their efforts were very successful as they distributed 350 meals! Let's try for more and show what Rotarians in Action can do together!
