July message from incoming President Elly Scheepers

Dear Rotarians,

As of July 1st 2024 I am your club president. I am very exited about it because leading Rotarians from all over the world is quite something, I think.

I have spoken most members last year, when we conducted a member survey and recently with the Club Health Check. Both surveys gave good input for the needs of club members.

We are a diverse Rotary Club not only because we are from different parts from the world. Members are not always native English speaking people, our members vary in age, some are still fulfilling a profession, and others are retired. And we have male and female members.

When I tell Rotarians about my e-club membership many say: “your eyes are shining and you show such excitement when you speak about it”. I am so proud to be member of E-club of One World and I delighted to serve you the coming year. I hope we can open new possibilities to be of service to our communities, to fund global grants, to grow in number of members, welcome people with “new” classifications, and I hope we connect with many Rotarians and Rotary clubs.

In fact I like all members to connect to a Rotary club that is fun, Rotarians that engage in projects, members that help each other to reach personal goals.

Our Past President Claudine introduced the monthly peace meeting where Rotary  E-club members connect with people from all over the world and take action on the biggest theme of Rotary International: Peace for all. These meetings help us to understand why we need  continuation of every effort to bring better understanding between people. Attending the meeting on the 4th Saturday of the month will help us to better understand what are the needs and  how we can contribute.  I would like all members to attend the Peace meeting.

I am also creating a Club Service meeting on the 3rd Saturday of the month. In this meeting we will discuss projects, plans and commitments. This meeting will be a working session for all members. We will brainstorm about solutions and action plans. “We need all members to reach our goals”. The 3rd Saturday is especially created for reaching our goals.

Our fellowship meeting at the 1st Saturday of the month will deal with professional talks and life stories from members as well as addressing the RI monthly theme. I hope that by the end of Rotary year 2024-2025 we have reconnected. We have shared our stories and are touched by the MAGIC of ROTARY.

On July 6, I shall share more information about myself, I hope to see you all.

Elly Scheepers
President 2024-2025
