Dear readers,
Membership and New Club Development
The RI theme for August is Membership and New Club Development, and this is something we need to continue to work on because attracting new members is vital to our club and to Rotary clubs all around the world.
This raises the question “who are potential members?” I hope to assist our members in bringing new members to the club and therefore I am happy to announce that the Strategic Plan will be in place soon. The proposal and request for feedback will be send shortly. On August 17, Osbert will update us and we can discuss the plan. It will have guidelines for new membership candidates and in the meantime we continue to be open to new members.
New Club Development is also part of the Strategic Plan and I, as president, have suggested some changes is our meeting schedules. Please check our website and Facebook for more information on upcoming gatherings.

Fellowship
Looking back I came to the conclusion that the first month in office went quickly. I started my presidency on July 6th with a warm goodbye and thank you for Claudine. I thank all members that participated in the fellowship meeting.
I had to miss my first board meeting, but thanks to the team the meeting was held. I promise you to do better next time. I am glad the team continued the important work.
Something new
A change I have suggested is to hold board meetings on a week day. The board accepted and August 6 we have our monthly board meeting and all board members are requested to attend.
Club Service meeting on the third Saturday of the month is open to all members. In this meeting we “work” on our projects. Project leaders, Avenues of Service chairs, and the board will share their projects on hand, inform members about the progress and the next steps, and call out for help. I urge all members to attend these meetings so we can reach our goals in time.
We are also providing space and time for working groups on this morning. Chairs can meet with their teams and report to the club immediately. We hope to accommodate our committee members in this way and create short communication lines.
Good traditions
Our peace meetings on the 4th Saturday of the month are an international success. Influential and knowledgeable people present and attend the meeting regularly. I am looking forward to the next one and hope to see you as well.
