Backpacks and School Supplies for Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.
In September 2021, at the beginning of the school year, we delivered 50 backpacks and school supplies to second-grade students of the Amelia Wilkes Ceseña Elementary School located in Cuatro De Marzo neighborhood in Cabo. This was led by Rotary Eclub of One World and the Principal and staff from the school. The project has been so successful that we decided to do it again in September 2023.
Nohemí Romero Guzmán an active member of our Eclub, worked together with the Rotary Club and Amciah, in getting a district grant for support to the community approved by the school support and literature program, within this category, it consisted of delivering 50 backpacks with a list that was requested from the principal. After a socio-economic study, the second-grade students received the support they needed because during the pandemic and the parents had little income due to lack of work, they received backpacks with a complete list of school supplies, and a snack.

Also, a member of the Mexican Association for Language Training and Holistic Assistance (AMCIAH), based in Cabo, explained that this would greatly benefit specifically 2nd graders with these backpacks and school supplies.

Again as we mentioned, our Eclub was so encouraged that we had made an impact in the community of one of our members that we wanted to repeat the project for this coming school year 2023-24. Click here to contact Nohemi to see how you can help or donate.
